T.W. Barrett - Chief of Navy

I welcome the opportunity to invite you to attend the forthcoming Pacific 2015 series of activities.
The Pacific 2015 Maritime Congress and Exposition will involve three interrelated events:

  • The RAN Sea Power Conference 2015, hosted by the RAN and organised by the Sea Power Centre - Australia.
  • The Pacific 2015 International Maritime Conference, organised by The Royal Institution of Naval Architects, The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology and Engineers Australia.
  • The Pacific 2015 International Maritime Exposition,
    conducted by Maritime Australia Limited.

Collectively, these conferences and exposition will offer an intensely fulfilling program for those with a professional interest in maritime affairs.
The Sea Power Conference will explore the broad theme of The Future of Sea Power. How governments use their navies and the composition of these navies evolve over time, to meet both current and emerging security challenges as well as advances in technology. The future of sea power is influenced by a myriad of factors that will impact on the possible roles of navies, the capabilities required by navies, and the technologies that might be used by navies. The RAN Sea Power Conference 2015 will explore these changes and their implications for navies in the future. Attendance at the conference is by invitation only and the proceedings will be published after the event.
I strongly support this most prestigious and comprehensive international maritime event, and invite you to join me at Glebe Island in Sydney from 6 to 8 October 2015 for Pacific 2015.

Vice Admiral, RAN
Chief of Navy
